Fine Joinery

We pride ourselves on traditional wooden joinery. However, we also use decorative metal created by artisan blacksmiths. When required, we also use custom steel connectors - often cleverly concealed at the client's request.

Traditional Wooden Joinery
Traditional wooden joinery is the hallmark of the timber frame. It is the reason that we can walk today through the halls of a building that is centuries old. And its probably one of the reasons you are drawn to this building method. It's certainly one of the reasons we're drawn to making them. Traditional mortise and tenon joinery is at the core of what we do at Wild Horse Timberworks. But we don't draw the line there.

Artisan Metal Work
When the design calls for it, we call upon our partners in artisan blacksmithing to produce the finest and most unique hardware available to integrate into our frames.

Contemporary Metal
We are sometimes called upon to incorporate contemporary metal connectors into our timber work. Most often, it is because we're working with a design that has stretched beyond the limits of wooden joinery. We're skilled at integrating fine timber frame and metal as required, even concealing the metal if that is what our client requests.
