Timber Frame Additions and Remodels
Planning a remodel or addition? You can always consider using timber frame to add character and charm. Timber frame can be added as a structural or decorative component to your design. As a decorative element, it can be added even late in your design stage.
Roof Systems
Timber frame homes are often recognized by their open design and soaring cathedral spaces above the great room. If you are adding a great room or a roofing as part of a remodel or addition you can consider timber trusses to create an open roof system. We can create trusses in many different styles. The timber roof system can be supported by posts or by pockets in your conventional stick framed walls. Call us to discuss your plans, you can bounce your ideas off us and we can tell you about some of the things we've done that have worked well for other homeowners.

King Post Truss
This classic King Post Truss has curved struts an a curved bottom chord.

Simple King Post Truss
In this simplified version of the King Post Truss, the gently curved bottom chord remains but the curved struts have been omitted.

Scissor Truss
The Scissor Truss (illustrated above with pendant) presents a slightly more contemporary option especially well suited to situations where a higher more open span is desireable.
There are a number of options for connecting the
trusses, a sectional ridge beam might be right for your design. We can also provide tongue and groove decking if you'd like to see a wood ceiling above the trusses.
Whichever truss concept you choose, the truss set can be extended from the interior through to the exterior of your design by adding an external truss, allowing the exterior of your structure to foreshadow the interior experience.
